The challenge
The homeowners loved white oak but had watched an earlier hardwood floor scratch within a season of dog nails, and a mudroom off the kitchen meant wet paws were a daily fact of life. They needed a floor that looked like wide-plank oak, flowed seamlessly through 1,800 square feet of open living space, and could take everything a busy household throws at it.
Our solution
We fitted CoreTec Premium rigid-core LVP in a Bavarian Oak print with a 20-mil wear layer, the thickest we stock. Because the plank floats, we ran it continuously through the kitchen, living, and hall with no thresholds to trip over, skim-coating the subfloor first so not a single seam telegraphs through.
The result
A seamless, fully waterproof floor that guests consistently mistake for real oak. Two winters in, the finish still reads as new, and the family stopped thinking about the floor entirely, which is exactly the point.
